Marpissa<\/strong> is another village of Paros that keeps the tradition of Cyclades islands not only in its structure but also in the way its residents live, keeping the folkways of their ancestors. It is located in the east side of Parikia<\/strong>, 17km from the center. It is built amphitheatrically on a small hill.<\/p>\n

Marpissa follows the Cycladic lows that all settlements on the island have: white houses, whitewashed yards with flowers, picturesque windmills, churches, all placed in such a way that will definitely charm you. You should visit the church of Saint\u00a0Dimitrios, Evangelistria and the Folk Museum<\/strong>. The Metropolitan church of the village was built in 1960 and it\u2019s dedicated to Metamorphosis of Sotiros.<\/p>\n

In the east side of Marpissa is the hill of Kefalos<\/strong>. There you will see the remains of the Enetic castle<\/strong>, built in the 15th century A.D. There you will enjoy the magnificent view of eastern Paros and the Paros- Naxos narrow sea pass and you should visit the Monastery of Saint Antonios<\/strong> of the 16th century A.D.<\/p>\n

In the settlement you will find taverns and cafes, lodgings, supermarket and pharmacy. From Marpissa you can approach some of the most famous beaches<\/strong> in the island like Drio, Piso Livadi, Logara, Pounda and Golden Beach.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
